Lodging in one of our luxury villas in Lucca is a privilege because of the accommodation’s quality and because of Lucca, one of Tuscany’s most fascinating Renaissance cities. Each of our villas in Lucca with pool gives the distinctive appeal of this famous olive oil, Apuane Alps, and Apennine vistas, ranging from antique and carefully renovated manors to contemporary masterpieces of modern design. Opulent modern conveniences are offered in picturesque environs filled with historic vineyards, rolling hills, and ancient fortifications.
Lucca is compact and polite, perfect for a Tuscany villa nearby, with attractive piazzas that enclose Luccan-Romanesque churches.
Lucca is one of Tuscany’s most attractive cities, with enough to see within its 16th-century ramparts (where in the 19th century, trees were planted, and now the ramparts can be walked or cycled: a charming promenade is a must). These historic and beautiful walls encircle the city. Many beautiful buildings and settings can be found in Lucca, including an iconic tower topped with trees, numerous churches (Lucca is known as the “City of a Hundred Churches”) with magnificent stone and mosaic facades, and the superb oval piazza, which sits on the site of a Roman Amphitheater, with buildings and houses built around the arena during the Middle Ages. Inside and out, the bustling piazza is surrounded by stores, cafes, and restaurants. It is the site of open-air music concerts in July.
Our luxury villas with private pools in Lucca are ideally situated at the foot of the enormous Apuan Alps and the Apennine Mountains, less than half an hour from the coast. (Viareggio, known for its Art Deco architecture and a long line of beach resorts, or the exclusive Forte dei Marmi) and within day-tripping distance of Florence. Tuscany holidays don’t get much better than this, with rural walks to enjoy, vineyards to discover, and poolside terraces from which to take in the views.
Close to the lovely Garfagnana – a mountainous region studded with gorgeous villages, hiking trails, and the Bagni di Lucca spa – and Lunigiana – a hilly area scattered with small medieval settlements and the remnants of more than 100 castles, noted for its spa and prehistoric cave.
Because Lucca and Pisa are so near together, combining your visits to see both is simple. Pisa is worth seeing not only for the leaning tower, which is accompanied by the Duomo (cathedral), the Baptistry, and the Campo Santo cemetery on the Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles), but also for its many churches, the magical Arno river, and Renaissance structures.
It’s like being given the keys to Paradise when renting an Italian villa in Lucca!
